Jane Eyre thoughts on book.....

The book Jane Eyre didn't catch my attention at first, I thought this book was going to be a girl telling her life at Lowood, but it became interesting when she left, and went to Thornfield to become a governess. Her life went through a great change, for she had not experienced anything outside of Lowood. As for Jane's features, I imagined her looking pretty not plain, for her personality is kind and she has passion when she speaks. When Mr. Rochester comes into the story, you get his perspective on what Jane looks like, and how he see her as someone who hasn't experienced much in her life outside of Lowood. When reading you can tell that Jane Eyre is beginning to care about Mr. Rochester and what he thinks. She almost has a breakdown or is sad that he left, she wanted to know how long we would be gone when he would come back and who he was going to be with... another woman?

  1. Good post, Izzy! I'm glad you're getting drawn into the book (yes, the Lowood chapters drag on a bit, but I think they're important--and fun in their own way). I look forward to learning your reaction to events yet to come!

  2. I find what Izzie said about Mr. Rochester interesting, because its true in Mr. Rochester's eyes Jane is enhanced even more so to being the strong independent heroine who saves the day wittily and intelligently, whereas had it been taken from another man's perspective she might be seen as odd course, and plain looking. Rochester enable the reader to look past her appearance and see her unique disposition.

  3. I agree with Isabel in the sense that I had no idea where the book was going. Though there is a lot of things that happen throughout each chapter of the novel, I believe that Jane rants and talks way to much on some things which make it seem somewhat repetitive. I am really enjoying going through this book though.
