A Day in the Life

My idea is to take everything that Emerson said and apply it to my everyday life. I want to rip on secondhand learning, material things, and complexity of modern day life. Everything I do during a daily routine should be defined by Emerson's ideas, I want to be able to criticize the 21st century and the ridiculousness of how everything we do is just so incredibly complicated. Life now is impossible to live without drama or insecurities and that is because we have separated so far away from our original nature and true soul. I want to cover a whole range of issues and address them very honestly.

  1. i really like this.you can do a lot with it.. i would go into how far humans have pushed the world and to what aspects we have develeoped with it.. and how it clearly is not that important considering we all end up in the same place.. good start and idea!

  3. I really your idea. I think it will really give you a lot to think about and consider and I can see it turning out really well. Also commenting on how even the little things we do are complicated and complex like going into town to hang out with a friend. There are always obstacles and aspects that affect the outcome of the original plan. Love it! Have fun.

  4. Shelby,

Like Thoreau, its sounds as if you want to both 'shave close and cut a wide swatch'. Good! There's not much specific here to comment on, but the enthusiasm in your post is encouraging. So, get to it! Have some fun with this! I'm anxious to read your first draft!
