Essay Topic
The topic I have picked is about our society. I feel that we are trapped in an unlocked cage but waiting outside is the unknown (nature), we can leave but the unknown is our largest fear and the cage (society) protects us. So we give up our freedom to be protected and kept away from the unknown so we can stay alive but really we are not living at all. If there is a god, creator than it wouldn't want us to destroy nature but rather be one with nautre and embrace nature. We need to break through the cage and face the unknown head on not be afraid but curious. That's my topic.

Its a good topic. Do you think that society is what makes us afraid of nature? is beeing together what keeps us traped, not wanting to be alone? sounds like you have plenty to go on

ReplyDeleteAn interesting post--but a brief one. Not much to comment on here except that wonderful image of being 'trapped by an unlocked cage' (I hope this is central to your first draft). So what is the lock (or what's keeping us from opening the door and exiting)? Like Nick, I sense that this has something to do with fear, but fear of what? I'm anxious to learn more!
How do you know this "Creator" would want us to embrace nature. Is this coming from the Bible and a Christian perspective or just a personal belief? Very interesting either way, and while I personally don't agree with it, it should make for a very interesting paper.
